5 Ways to Get Involved in Broadcast Ministry

5-Ways-to-Get-Involved-in-Broadcast-Ministry-low-res

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]“I’m done with church. Why do I need to go to church when sermons are available online?”, said a church member to his pastor. In today’s technologically advanced, information at your fingertips, modern society this seems like a reasonable question. Churches who invest in a broadcast ministry often have their services streamed live on their website, Facebook, and YouTube, have a weekly blog and weekly podcast available on three platforms as well as an awesome app that makes all content accessible in one place. With so much good content available from your church, why not sit at home? Here’s why. Community.

The mission of broadcast ministry is to reach those outside your church. It’s an evangelistic tool to reach those without Christ with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s a growth tool to help people find you who may never drive past your physical location. It’s a communication tool to engage with members who in turn share content with their friends and family. What it is not is an excuse to sleep in and sit on your couch during worship (unless you’re sick, of course, or homebound ).

Corporate worship requires assembling together to sing praises, study God’s word, pray for one another, minister to one another’s needs, hold each other accountable, and disciple one another. This can only happen in community.

So, while you’re growing in community with your church, don’t forget about the mission of the church to evangelize the lost and reach those without hope. You are an important part of the broadcast ministry. Here’s how you can help.

Book That Shocked the World

Tortured for Christ 810x450

The prison official shouts, “Give me their names! Names! Tell us the names” but Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, tied up in a dark-and-dingy Romanian prison torture chamber, remains silent.

His face is bloodied, and his feet scarred from relentless beatings. The guards had offered him a deal: If he hands over the names of Christians to the Communist government, he would get a reduced sentenced – perhaps even be freed. But he refuses.

“It’s only a matter of time,” the prison official tells him. “Wurmbrand . . . Be reasonable. Your life belongs to me now.

A weak Wurmbrand, struggling for each breath, responds, “My life is not my own. I belong to Christ.”

The gut-wrenching and inspirational story of Wurmbrand is well-known to Christians worldwide thanks to his book that shocked the world, Tortured for Christ.  Pastor Wurmbrand endured 14 years in a communist prison and became the “voice” of the underground church to the free world.

Wednesday night August 22nd, 2018 moviegoers will have a chance to watch his story unfold on the big screen when Tortured for Christ – based on the 1967 best-selling book by the same name — is screened at Eastwood Baptist Church. It was produced by The Voice of the Martyrs and is presented by OnBuzz and Voice of the Martyrs.Invite your friends and family to this screening of Tortured for Christ where you will watch this amazing true story unfold and learn how persecuted believers all around the world can be supported.

Tickets are $9 per person and can be purchased at https://onbuzz.tugg.com/events/tortured-for-christ-movie-0lsh
