Back to School can be very hectic and stressful for parents and students alike. We hope to help make this year start off cool and collected. We’ve compiled a number of resources for you to get your family ready for Back to School.
Our FREE community Back2School Bash is Wednesday, August 15th@ 6:30 pm with food, inflatables, and tons of fun.

August 3-5: Tax Free Weekend
Throughout tax-free weekend, certain clothes and shoes are exempt from sales tax until midnight Sunday. Each item must be less than $100 to remain tax free. Athletic shoes and clothing are not included. Other items not exempt from sales tax include accessories, electronics and school supplies.

August 1 – 17: Rogers County School Supply Program
When: Registration starts Wednesday, August 1st through the 17th from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where: First United Methodist Church Claremore, 1615 North Hwy 88, Claremore, 918-341-4580
The Rogers County School Supply Program provides free school supplies for any public-school child living in Rogers County who cannot afford to purchase their own supplies. Children who need supplies may register August 1 to 17, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Registration is in the Children’s Center which is located on the west side of FUMC Claremore’s Central Campus (1615 N. Highway 88). For more information visit https://claremorefumc.org/schoolsupplies
August 4: Claremore Back-to-School Bash
When: Saturday, August 4th, 9:00 am – 11:30 am
Where: Northeast Technology Center, Claremore, 1901 North Hwy 88,
Several local groups will be in attendance, giving out information that will help for the upcoming school year. The kids will get plenty of goodies to be used at school. Visit here for more information.
August 4: Broken Arrow Back to School Bash
When: Saturday, August 4, 9:00 am – noon
Where: The Assembly Broken Arrow, 3500 W. New Orleans St., Broken Arrow
The Broken Arrow Police Department, The Assembly at Broken Arrow and St. John Broken Arrow are also proud to sponsor the 12th annual Back to School Bash on Aug. 4 free of charge. There will be free school supplies, haircuts, immunizations, vision screening and more! Other organizations in attendance will include: Camp Bandage, Family and Children’s Services, Tulsa City-County Library, Vince and Larry the Crash Test Dummies and McGruff the Crime Dog. August 6 -7: Cuts for Kids
When: Monday, August 6th and Tuesday, August 7th, 9:30 am – 9:30 pm
Where: Clary Sage College, 31st and Sheridan, Tulsa
Free school haircuts on a walk-in basis for students K-12. Visit their Facebook page for more information.
August 9: Kiowa Tribe Back-To-School Distribution
When: Thursday, August 9, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Where: Eastwood Baptist Church, 948 S 91st E Ave, Tulsa
The Kiowa Tribe Back-to-School Distribution will be in five different locations in the month of August. Must have CDIB card and verification of enrollment form for each student. August 9: Back to School Community Resource Fair
When: Thursday, August 9 from 9:00 am – noon
Where: Tulsa Technology Center, Lemley Memorial Camps, 3420 S Memorial Dr, Tulsa
At this free come-and-go event, more than 70 businesses and nonprofit organizations will provide school supplies and/or information about programs and services that can make the school year more successful. Attending children will receive free school supplies, immunizations, dental screening, haircuts, vision screening, and much more while supplies last. Children must be present to receive school supplies as supplies are limited.

August 10: Bixby Back to School Event
When: Thursday, August 2, 4 p.m.- 6 p.m.
Where: Bixby Community Outreach Center, 77 E Breckenridge Ave, Bixby
Don’t miss out on the BOC Back To School Event – Backpacks with all school supplies will go out on Thursday, Aug.2nd from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. First come first served. August 11: Sand Dazzle & Back to School Bash
When: Saturday, August 11, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Where: Nienhuis Community Center, 3201 N. Ninth St., Broken Arrow
A free community event with free backpacks with school supplies, face painting, games, inflatables, hot dogs, snow cones and our giant sand pit that kids can play in and dig for prizes!!! Broken Arrow Beauty College will be giving out free haircut vouchers for back to school haircuts. Kids can try out the latest and greatest video games with Game on Party Trucks and Broken Arrow Martial Arts Academy will do demonstrations and give out some coupons for free lessons. The Hub Gym & Evolve Paleo Chef of BA will give health tips & healthy goodies and much more. Parents can register to win a $100 visa gift card. Visit their Facebook page for more information.
August 12: Sand Springs Back to School Bash
When: Sunday, August 12, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Where: Tulsa Technology Center’s Sand Springs Campus, 924 E. Charles Page Blvd.
The Sand Springs Ministerial Alliance is helping kids get ahead this coming school year with the group’s 2018 Back to School Supply Giveaway event happening on August 12th.
Those who need supplies can show up from 2-4 p.m. to catch a free haircut, get a new backpack, and pick up common school supply items such as paper, pencils and glue sticks. Click here for more information.
August 16: Rudisill Back to School Community Resource Fair
When: Thursday, August 16, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Where: Rudisill Library, 1520 N. Hartford Ave.
Prepare your child for a successful school year. Learn about Tulsa City-County Library’s services and community resources, while picking up school supplies and giveaways for your child. Supplies and giveaways are limited on a first-come-first-serve basis. The resource fair includes immunizations; enrollment for new students; vision and dental screenings; book, backpack and school supply giveaway; face painting; balloon animal art; book walk; and more. For immunizations, a parent or legal guardian must accompany each child to provide consent. Please bring a copy of your child’s most recent immunization record. Vaccines are offered at no cost to children who are eligible for Medicaid, uninsured or American Indian. Sponsored by the Friends of the Rudisill Regional Library, Tulsa City-County Library, Modern Woodmen of America and Oklahoma Caring Foundation. For more information visit the Tulsa Library.
August 24: Bixby Back to School Kick Off
When: Friday, August 24, 4:30 pm -6:30 pm
Where: Charley Young Event Park, 50 W. Dawes, Bixby
This year’s Bixby Back to School Kickoff event will be Aug 24th – 4:30-6:30pm right before the Bixby -Jenks football game! Live Music, Food Trucks, Family Activities will be a great way to Kick Off the school year, student clubs and football season! For more information click here.
