/pərˈspektiv/
a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.

We are all made for more. The “more than” can vary. More than the American Dream, more than a job title or a career advancement or your culture’s expectations and values, more than the limits you put on yourself. Made for More is an invitation to expand your understanding of purpose.

What is Perspectives?

Perspectives is a discipleship course that takes you through the Bible, back in time, and across the globe. A fantastic array of pastors, theologians, missiologists and mobilizers will challenge and inspire you as they help bring the course content to life with their personal experiences and expertise. You will join a community of believers as you journey together toward a better understanding who God is, what He is doing, and your role within that. Whether you are single, married, a student, a homemaker, a professional or retired, Perspectives will encourage and challenge you to live on purpose, with purpose.

God has a “world-sized” role for every Christian in His global purpose. Whether people go to distant countries or stay at home is a secondary issue. The primary issue is what most people are hungry to discover: vision to live a life of purpose. Discovering that vision makes this course valuable, and perhaps crucial, for any Christian.

What is God’s Heart for All People

Back in Time

From Genesis to the prophets, Jesus Christ to the early church, and Constantine to today, you will see how God has been moving, how the global Church has responded, and what the greatest needs in world evangelization remain today. Perspectives will sharpen your focus on the world and help stimulate your thinking about the Great Commission. The course surveys the global cause of Christ in four dimensions: Biblical, Historical, Cultural, and Strategic.

It isn’t a class about missions, but a course on how every believer can be intimately woven into the story of God using His people to be a blessing to all the peoples of the earth.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation-Christmas-Child

Operation-Christmas-Child

Our Lindbergh children as well as our EKids will be packing boxes. They could use donations of school supplies to include in their boxes. September shopping suggestions are games and puzzles.

Ages of children range from two to fourteen years. Please leave your donations in the foyer. Boxes will be collected the second week of November.

What is Operation Christmas Child?

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse that collects shoe box gifts filled with all kinds of items like school supplies, hygiene items and toys and delivers them to children in need around the world.

Eastwood Tulsa has participated in Operation Christmas Child for years and is part of our vision of being a multi-generational, multi-ethnic church, that is a place to Believe, Belong and Be Loved.

As part of its “all church” mission outreach projects, this year’s goal is 150 boxes.

How to Pack a Shoebox

Here’s all you need to do:

  1. Find an average size empty shoebox. If you want to wrap it, cover the box and lid separately OR pick up a shoebox in the foyer (the plastic boxes are each).
  2. Decide whether you will pack a box for a girl or a boy, and the age category: 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14.
  3. Select a medium to large “wow” item such as a deflatedsoccer ball with pump or stuffed animal, then fill with other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies.

More gift ideas can be found here.

Please DO NOT include these items:

Candy; toothpaste; gum; used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; seeds; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.

  1. Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift. You can also include a personal note and photo.
  2. Donate $9 in cash or check payable to “Samaritan’s Purse” to help defray shipping costs.
  3. Return your filled box to Eastwood Tulsa by November 4th.

Thank you for providing a Christmas gift for children in need.  For many of these children, this is the first gift they’ve ever received in their lives. This is a great opportunity to share God’s love with kids all around the world and to make a positive impact in their lives.
