Episode #17: Giving Thanks to God for What He Has Done
Thanks Be to God
Giving Thanks to God for What He Has Done
When we walk through suffering or loss, how can we change our focus and become thankful and full of joy? Look to Scripture:
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” I Thessalonians 5:18
“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-8
There’s a balance there, we need to put it into perspective. It becomes a focus, on thoughts, emotions.
How do we become thankful in all things?
Meditate on the Scripture, memorize, and pray through the scripture.
There is always hope in the Word. God is the factor that makes it possible. Without Him I can do nothing. Christ in me has to help me.
Enter His Courts with Thanksgiving
Romans 8:32-39
1. The great gift of Jesus Christ assures us that God will not withhold the lesser gifts His grace gives us!
We often wrap gifts in paper or put them in fancy bags. We put diamond rings in little velvet boxes. The treasure is on the inside. The box and paper are not the main focus. Just like life! Jesus is the most important gift everything else is wrapping paper which God gives us freely!
2. No one can condemn us and nothing can separate us from God’s love!
3. Because of Jesus Christ, we are conquerors (victorious) in all facets of life good and bad. God’s love for us never changes.
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15 (NKJV)
