Generational views on text messaging

Gordon – respond right away.

Voice mail – I don’t leave voice messages.  I will call you back when I see that I missed your call.

Take advantage of technology to share our faith.

Jeremy – appropriate window of time to respond – as I get to it.  Perpetual text conversation that could last days or weeks.

Rationalizing – truth is, some people are more important than others.

Three Essential Steps to Evangelism:

1.Rely on the Holy Spirit

“Satan never tells you to go share your faith with someone.” If we don’t obey the Spirit when He speaks, we quench the Spirit.

2. Expect to be Uncomfortable

Uneasiness, rejection, and fear are all from the enemy. It is the job of the Holy Spirit to draw people to Him and convict of sin.

3. Be Yourself

Let the Spirit of God use you in the witness.  Don’t become who you think you need to be – just be you. God has made you unique – embrace who you are in Christ.

How to pray for the lost:

~Ask that God would draw them to Jesus – John 6:44

~Be available

“I’ve never struggled with any other addiction, but I do believe I have always been addicted to being comfortable. That’s my struggle in sharing my faith.” (84-year-old Christian grandmother)
